I was reading an article on Ryan Hall and his switch to bodybuilding from running and he has went from 130 lb peak running performance weight to 190 lbs of solid muscle. Pretty amazing turn around if you ask me. I would just like to find a middle ground if possible.

I hate gym TV's that are tuned to any 24 hour cable news station. We're all saturated with too much information these days. I prefer sports or some sort of travel/cooking show if they have to have TV's on at all.

I receive visits from the black dog as well. Something that has helped me is trying to remain focused on the things within my control and let go of the stuff that's not. Also remembering that this is not our permanent home and making the most of the short time we have here. I know this is easier said than done. Hang in there.

Went for an easy 5 mile run today. Finished up with an increase in effort and pace down the road toward home and came into contact with the speeding marker that read 10 mph flashing 11 mph a couple of times. That was a real boost to my confidence even though it was downhill. I haven't been wearing a watch or a heart rate monitor and instead just go by feel. Perhaps there is something left in the tank after all of these years.

On another subject the inflation in this economy is out of control.. A great time to introduce an infrastructure bill which would only put more pressure on costs with basic building materials. Portland cement, metals and rare earth elements etc.  This administration really leaves me scratching my head.

No run today. The plan was to go for a long run.  However I just wasn't feeling the energy and today seemed like a good day to take a break.

Instead working on an issue with the Philco 116b which drops out on the lower end of both commercial AM broadcast and shortwave bands. I'm thinking there might be a problem with the tuning condenser plates shorting out somewhere. It's kind of a weird hobby but it keeps me going.

Looking forward to that book as I ordered it recently. It won't arrive soon enough.. I went there to experience this place for it's wonder and beauty. It's hard to see how much has changed though in twenty years since I was last there. More like a playground than a national treasure.

I've stopped going to Moab except during off-season times like October/November. Arches has become like Disneyland with the crowds. Lately we have been going to Fruita, Colorado which is only a little further and about half the costs and no crowds. Same quality trails to run and outdoor awesomeness.

The television series back in the 1970s that was about family during the depression era of the 1930s.  Not the original radio of course but the same model.  Dial drive belts are going to be interesting for sure.
