AM: Continuing to feel much better. Today must have been national running day, I saw over 10 other runners in just the 2.5 mi to work. I did have too many meetings today but still managed to get some work done. Commute run in.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I was not going into this as a race but more to have some fun. The last time I ran it was in 2009. Saw some familiar faces at the start. Spoke with Kevin a little and added more onto my warm-up with Fritz. The course is uphill then downhill. It was cool but good for racing temperature wise. The start was entertaining as BJ and a friend decided to cross dress for the race... Very funny.

Since I wasn't "racing" I stayed back with the second pack at the start. Picked one guy off going into the canyon, then a second. However, I then got into a game of leapfrog with Mike Evans. He ended up laying the hammer down with about half mile or more to go and I never retook him. At the time I did not know who he was but after finding out realized he was just playing around. It was still a lot of fun to actually end up racing someone. That does not happen that often.

I ran 17 seconds slower than 2009 and 1:07 slower than 2007 so not my fastest on the course but I fulfilled my goal of having some fun.

The highlight was definitely the warm-up and cool-down with Fritz. It was fun getting to talk with him some.

Hope you are all gorging on food. I'm going to now.

In early to lab to take care of a few items then back home for some writing. Took my run midday and then back to writing. I have two manuscripts I'd like to get out before the end of the year so it is really crunch time. I did the south extension on the Suicide Loop. The weather continues to be perfect I wish I would have had time to go farther.

With the Christmas crunch coming up I ended up having to work all day. Did get to do meals with the family but otherwise in front of the computer. Then went out for an evening Suicide Loop with John. It was much cooler tonight.
