Sugar House commute run. Still very tired but not as sore. Did my Monday Morning Mile (MMM). It is always nice being able to move my legs again. The weather was actually a little warm compared to the 52F I saw on TWC before heading out. Still a pleasant fall morning run. Now on to another busy week.

Anything to get my mind off grant writing.

How have things been in your neck of the woods?

About the same, I am teaching this semester (a really hard class). It is (the teaching anyway) a little better than last year, but still pretty tough. I am also struggling with grant stuff. I am trying to get the K I submitted this past summer (will be reviewed 9/27) rewritten as a R01 -- hopefully to be submitted the first part of October. Then I will just play the "wait-and-see" game.

Good luck with the writing Adam, I found out in lab meeting last week that my hypotheses for my aims are wrong (despite having given these to my mentor about 6 times over the past 4 months, arrrrg!)

Sorry about that. Very frustrating. Sounds like we are converging on deadlines. I had a discussion with my mentor last Friday and we decided that it was time for me to go for a K award as well. I am currently overhauling my JDRF grant for a K99 submission (same Oct 12 deadline you are looking at but because of internal paperwork needs to be "done" by Oct 5th)... I am intimidated by the R01 transition but at the same time am looking forward to that jump to independence. I guess I like the bigger challenge in both running and science.
