Enjoy running and racing at whatever level I am able to. Possibly run another marathon post Microfracture Surgery in under 3:00.

I'm in the Army. I am married with four children (20/17/13/8 years old). Trying to return to previous running form after having microfracture knee surgery in July 2008.

Easy run today after 4 days off to try and let me foot heal. Felt ok today and did not really feel like I was pushing the pace at all. Ended up running 6:41 average pace for the 10 miles with 2.5 miles at 6:12 pace in the middle. Even the 6:12 pace felt easier than marathon pace. The good news is that my foot did not hurt very much. There is still some pain in the same area but it is much improved. I can still feel it on almost every step but it is definetly heading in the right direction. Hopefully it will not get any worse as I run this week. I will continue with easier runs this week and hope for the best.

Hope the rest helps and you continue to heal and recover. I had foot problems after Pocatello last year and had to back out of a marathon I was going to run because I didn't want to make it worse. Your approach to rest and taking the training a bit easy sounds like a good approach.
