Started at 4:30am and ran with Sasha after a couple miles. We did a 5 mile tempo in the middle that started off at a comfortable pace and we tried to gradually speed up but I wanted to make sure I stayed at what felt no faster than 1/2 marathon effort. We did not look at splits during run just ran by feel and looked at splits afterwards. Splits were: 1= 6:20, 2=6:10, 3=6:09, 4=5:59, 5=5:49. Sasha sped up and pulled away over the last 1/2 mile but I did not want to push faster than 1/2 marathon effort so let him go and maintained my effort. Overall a good run with only minor issues in legs. I am starting to feel like things are coming around for me. I feel like my fitness level has really started to increase. Total today 12.1 miles average of just under 7:00 pace overall. |
