Enjoy running and racing at whatever level I am able to. Possibly run another marathon post Microfracture Surgery in under 3:00.

I'm in the Army. I am married with four children (20/17/13/8 years old). Trying to return to previous running form after having microfracture knee surgery in July 2008.

K+38 days post surgery

Worked on leg strength today. Did 150 straight leg lifts and 150 side leg lifts as well as heel slides.

Better news is I was able to walk around the house with only one crutch. It was very slow but it is a start. It was not easy but not too much pain just mostly muscle support issues. I am going to try and walk with only one crutch as much as possible this week and maybe if things go well I can be off crutches by the end of the week. We will see.

Looks like your recovery is going well...even slightly ahead of schedule. Good job walking the fine line between maximizing the healing and strengthening and not overdoing things. You'll be back on your own two feet in no time and running shouldn't be too far off after that!

Thanks Dale, I am trying to keep it gradual but at the same time I am doing as much as I can that hopefully does not put me at risk. I am following what the PT tells me and making sure everything I am doing is ok with him. I do not want to risk not healing fully. Only time will tell how things turn out.
