Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8:57 average pace.  Beautiful morning.  40ish degrees, white sparkly frost on the ground, multicolored trees--just gorgeous.  I know I've already said this but I really do love autumn running!  Was going to do my out-and-back course twice for 11ish miles but second time out my right knee felt achey so I turned around early and cruised back, stopped at 10 miles and walked a little while.  It feels fine now, I think I just need to keep taking it really easy as I am probably not completely recovered from the marathon.  My plan from now until the end of the year is just lots and lots of easy easy miles and nothing else, except if I throw a race or two in there somewhere.

Good idea with taking it easy...plus it is the holidays! LOL

I forgot to say-I love your new pic--which race is it?

That would be the finish line of the marathon and I was quite happy to be ther!

10 miler 9 days out? Recovery, don't underestimate its power. I have seen a lot of runners with nagging injuries because they started out too quickly after an intense marathon. Go easy, take it down a few miles. It took me two and three days weeks before I ran 11 miles. No aches, no pains except for allergy-related ones. And a nagging sore throat that just came upon me, nothing sleep and an easy run won't cure : D.
