Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

Thunder and lightning.  All morning.  No way I could run safely outside before going to work, so I finally drove to Building 1 to run on the treadmill.  I was pressed for time so decided to make it short but make it count.

Set the treadmill at 1% incline for the entire run

warmed up one mile at 8:34 pace

5 miles at 7:30 pace--target marathon pace maybe? Felt harder than it should have at first but then got easier as time went by.  I am just not used to nor do I like running on the treadmill

1 mile at 6:40 pace--felt hard at first but was getting into a groove at the end.  checked my heart rate at the end--178.  Geez.

.5 mile cooldown.

I really hate the treadmill.  To me it is mentally defeating and I have a hard time getting into the groove.

Stretched a little, drove to post 11, showered, and got on the truck.  Now I'm at work and it's still raining--haven't heard much thunder though.

I hate the treadmill, too, BUT you kicked butt on it!! Super impressive paces.

About those dogs, I like the mace idea. It is annoying that you have to deal with them so often and just not right!

Hope people were smart yesterday and you were not too busy!

I do all my fast sessions (tempo runs and faster) on the treadmill, so I agree it is tough, but it makes you a lot stronger mentally too, plus races feel a lot easier when there are people around you! It also helps your concentration.

Rain Rain come my way!! So miss those August rains and runs!!! NH is filled with them. TM running gets easier. I totally am an outdoors woman. But it is helping my fitness, I think. Time will tell. Good for you to keep that incline it keeps us honest : D.
