Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

good solid hour of core at the Y

Then I went to see the orthopaedist.  The fracture is stable.  He said weightbearing as tolerated, start with some partial weighbearing and add from there.  So I got up and walked and it startled him.  It is a slow, limpy, ugly walk but I am done with crutches!!

I'm sure you surprise a lot of people with your toughness.

Gee, April.

I have just read you blog and about the accident. I'm so sorry this happened but also grateful that you will have a speedy recovery.

I didnĀ“t know about your accident at work. Did the patient survive also?

Keep up the spirit, I'm sure you will be back in no time.

Cheers from all the way south.

That's great...first you ugly walk, then you ugly run, then you regular run, then you run fast.

Get a cool cane - not the walker kind with tennis balls on the feet, the fancy oak kind with a chrome handle.

Whadayasay she skips the cane and goes straight to trekking poles? That way she can be recovering AND training for the next Psycho Wyco at the same time.
