Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

am.  Copied Jake K's 3-2-1 workout today to pass time on the treadmill.  I slept for 9, uninterrupted hours last night so I felt AMAZING today.  Warmed up 2 miles ez, then 3 miles at 6:31 pace, .5 jog, 2 miles at 6:15, 6:11, .5 jog, 1 mile at 5:56, .5 cooldown--then blasted through as many weights as possible in 25 minutes while Vanessa finished up Funfit.  I felt awesome, in fact this workout felt way too easy, I think I dogged it a little but I set the paces at what I estimated would be reasonable for hmp, 10k, and 5k pace.  Looking forward to a shakeout jog tonight--laps around the track with strollers while our kids play with my Mommy running friends! My weight is at an all-time low but I feel really great!

pm. met up with April R at the Collegiate track.  We settled her 10 month old into the stroller, got our little girls together playing in the bleachers, and took out in 90 degrees to run circles.  The kids were great, we got away with 7 easy miles and took them all out for frozen yogurt afterward.  I got to re-live the glory days pushing the stroller.

Great session April. Sometimes I'll drop the rest down to 1/4 mile when I'm keeping it around HM pace, but I think its OK to take the full (1/2) and really hit the paces. Especially when you are getting down to 10K/5K. It felt good b/c you are FIT!

Yeah, if that felt easy, then you are in great shape. I forget which marathon you're running...St G or something else? Whichever one you choose, it'll be a big PR.

Great workout April. I come to your blog for inspiration! I ran some 5K stuff today but it was only quarters...but it's getting better. :-)

Also I think you need to change that long term running goal to OTQ 2:43!

Jake--I definitely feel fitter than I ever have before, ever, this is uncharted territory

Joe--just running my local Prairie Fire Marathon on October 14 and hoping for sub-3 on an honest course

IJR--I'm so glad to hear you are getting back at it after your accident! Yay!

Rachelle--OTQ, seems almost unrealistic, but then again, sub-3 seemed just as ridiculous not too long ago. we will have to see how this next year pans out, if maybe I really have that kind of running in me or not
