Met Tara at the LPT for the usual Tuesday morning run.  First 4 miles in 31:30.  We were indecisive on what we should do on the way back.  Decided to start at 7:00/mile then see how things would go from there.  Ran 6:58, 6:52, 6:47, 6:47 on the way back.  Tara pushed a little harder the last mile and finished 15-20 seconds ahead of me.  I was content holding the pace at 6:50.

Met Kam at the mouth of Big Cottonwood and drove to Brighton so we could run the first 15 miles of the marathon course.  Ran the first 3 miles with Becky and a couple of her friends then Kam and I picked up the pace for the rest of the run. Ran a few at 7:30 then the last 9 at 6:50-7:10.   Pace felt very comfortable because of the downhill.  After we finished I ran back up a mile to finish with the ladies.  They tacked on another 5 miles to get to 20 while I drove the car to where they finished.  Had to stop every couple of miles to make sure we would end up at the same place.  Kind of felt like Ragnar.

This was a very good run and made me think for half a second that I could actually do the marathon.  I have to remember that, just as a bad run during training doesn't mean that you can't run perform well in a marathon, a good run while you are not training properly does not mean you should run one.
