I'm not sure that I am mentally ready for the mid-week medium long run.  I just have to look forward to the recovery runs and convince myself that the total time on the road for the week is not changing that much.  Physically, the second half of the run felt really good. My legs had a little more spring in them than I expected.  It helped that I had some positive things to think about on my run.  It has been a long time.

Mid-week medium long run scares me too, I am not looking forward to it. Glad you are thinking positive.

Positive things to think about? Is it related to a date you had? C'mon Andy ... spill the beans!!! :)

Teena - Do you really expect me to divulge my deepest, most personal secrets on the world wide web? It is not a date (yet) but I am very hopeful. It's one of those "just feels right - too good to be true" things.

Those feels right - too good to be true things DO TURN out to be GOOD! Keep thinking...a date...a NICE date...a HOT date...is about to happen.

Very cool mid-week MLR. I used to dread those runs until I found different routes and made them fun.

I just started Pfitz's 18/70 plan for St. George so we're doing similar training at this point (at least mileage wise, not pace). I'm guessing you are training for Park City?

From Andy on Tue, Jun 02, 2009 at 15:27:16 from 159.212.71.17

Fly - I'm not training for Park City. I have Mesa Falls in the back of my mind but it will probably not pan out. If it doesn't, I will use the training for something else in the fall. And you are right. The pace probably is different - I can't keep up with you any more.

Positive vibes.

Nice run Andy. I agree it is much nicer to run when you have something happy to think about. Good for you.

I've perused the Mesa Falls web site and thought of running it. Looks like a great race. I say you should just do it, regardless of if it pans out.

I am happy to hear you are having good thoughts during you run. I find it funny that the girls comment on your social life while the boys comment on your running life.
