Drove to the rec center to meet the running club but little did I know that they decided to meet somewhere else today.  I remembered Lora mentioning something about running on Davis Blvd last week so I thought I would run up there to see if that is where they were.  It is a good climb to get up there and I was feeling pretty tired.  Saw everybody's cars parked there and thought I would just run along Davis and would bump into them at some point.  It is probably good that I was on my own this morning because I was having a hard time.  I was running 7:45/mile and my heart rate was in the mid 170's.  That is way too high for that pace.  Crossed paths with a few club members then headed back.  On the way back down the big hill I was cruising along and hit a patch of ice and went down hard.  I laid there for a second (after yelling an expletive) and tried figure out if I did any damage.  When I was falling I reached back to catch myself and strained my shoulder.  It hurt really bad and I thought it might be separated.  I was able to move it so I knew that wasn't the case.  I slowly got up and realized that I hit my head also because I started getting really light headed.  I walked for a little bit and my shoulder started to feel better and I realized that I just strained it.  Ran the last 1.5 miles pretty slowly.  I'm fine now (only a little sore).  This is a fitting end to the kind of week that I have had.

Ouch! I'm glad there was no major damage. I don't know if I would be the avid runner I am if I lived in a cold, icey place. I know I have to run in 120 degree heat in the summer, but if you drink enough it's not so bad. Ice is scarry. Andy, be safe.

You really have had a CRAPPY week Andy. I'm sorry. My week was good until today and I feel like I've been run over by a train. Hopefully we can both perk up for next week. I hope your shoulder and head feel better.

Oh Andy I am sorry I missed you at the run and I am really sorry you fell! I hope you are better. My troubles usually come in threes and it sounds like you have had at least that many so I hope you are done!

Welllll. It certainly could have been worse. But I hope it gets better.

WHAT IN THE WORLD?????

Man alive Andy ... I sure hope that your shoulder is feeling okay today. So ... is it?

This week will be amazing. It has to be ... law of averages, right?
