Another easy 5. Threw in a few downhill strides just for run. Other than my weight being higher than I would like, I feel ready for the race.

I just had a really foolish thought.  Even though I was planning on taking a break from marathons this year, I am contemplating running the Grand Slam.  I'm already running Ogden and SGM so I only need to run Park City and TOU.  I will already be in marathon shape so running these two wouldn't be a big deal.  The only real issue is accepting a slightly slower time at SGM from running TOU.  I've done it before and have done fine.  I was just looking at the list of people signed up in my age group and there is only one person faster than me (Walter) so I think that I would have a shot at an age group award.  At my level, I look for any small victory that I can find.  The only thing holding me back is that I'm not sure that I will be able to get in the mileage that I really want to with all the other junk going on in my life.  I am open to any and all opinions on this.

I think if you are going to run all the marathons you have to do most of them at a training run pace ei. slower than you can. Then I think it would be fine. I thought about it but I think I will save it for a year I don't get inot SG.

You can take Walter!

No seriously, I second what Josse said. You could do it, but only if you don't race them all out. And only if you keep your mileage up high and expect to be tired all summer. Wow, you almost talked me into it....Ha

Ditto what they said. Be especially careful with those marathons that are close together on the calendar. I'm still paying the price (health/injury-wise) for running back-to-back races. Although in my case I wasn't training properly to begin with, so if you can keep the mileage up I imagine it will help alot.

Thanks for the advice. I've run the slam before on less miles than I run now so I know that I can do it. It's just a matter of making the commitment to maintaining higher mileage through the summer. As far as not running some of them all out - I don't think that I am capable of doing that. I get too caught up in the event and am unable to hold back.
