First 3 mile and first high school race. Holy moly. I will start from the beginning.

I didn't ride the bus because I had soccer and so my mom was just going to pick me up early from that and drive me up. So I was a little late for the warm up. I just ended up running around the track once with the girls but that was fine with me because I HATE warm up and cool downs. I seriously hate them with all of my heart. If I had a choice between running a 3 mile race without warm up and cool downs or just doing the warm up and cool downs I would choose the race because they are the worst thing ever invented. Anyway, we did our agilities (or however you spell it) and jogged over to the starting line. I wasn't as nervous as I though I'd be but I still had a little butterflies. We prayed and then got ready to start and Mia was giving us a small pep talk and I asked a question and when she turned around to answer it they blew the gun! So we all had a bit of a late start but it wasn't a big deal. We started running and I felt alright. The nerves had left and I just kinda started running. By the time I was on the other side of the soccer net thing I was in such a good mood! I was thinking "this is so fun!" And other lies like that however I was being positive so that's good. I felt great! I was passing people and getting up there with Megan and kaelie. When I got on the track for the first time I started passing people more and more it was a great feeling! I didn't really have any problem with any hills except for when I passed the starting place on the grass and those tiny hills just killed me. I kept passing people and kind of settled into the place I got, on the end of the second lap. The last lap was when my brain started asking me "what the heck are you doing ya crazy! I'm hurting over here!" But I just told it if you don't have anything nice to say don't say nothing at all! And the last stretch in between the tennis courts and baseball field coach was standing there and yelling at me saying "your the fastest one out there go get those girls!" I sorta sped up right there but once I passed him I didn't have a lot of motivation to kick it in at the end. When I got to the track there were two girls like 20 meters in front of me and I wanted to catch them but I just didn't. I got 14th overall. 3rd on the team and my time was 21:20. I pretty much died after. I was overjoyed and wanted to puke at the same time. After the race me and Josie went on a cool down and I'm pretty sure we are the only ones who did so because we were like last on the bus. My performance today made me really happy and I hope I can help the team win region or maybe even state.

Great job!! You are an amazing runner! :) I'm so happy that you are improving so much! Oh, and by the way, we cooled down too. :)
