| Location: Huntsville,UT,United States Member Since: May 25, 2015 Gender: Male Goal Type: Other Running Accomplishments: Pre- High School- I did a few local races, such as 4th of July/charity 5ks. I mainly just ran for fun, and to get a feel for running. I didn't do a lot of training or workouts until Jr. High track started. As high school got closer, i started to get more serious.
Freshman Year- I decided to run xc for Weber High School. I ran very little over the summer, and had a rough start to the season. Despite the rough start, I got faster and was able to run on the varsity team more often than not. I dropped my 3 mile time to 17:04, but didn't make it to State. I finnished the season at Footlocker west regionals. I didn't prepare well and placed 22nd in the freshman race. (4th from Utah) Indoor track started and I wanted to break 5 really bad, but ended up running 5:02 at Simplot. When outdoor track started I was really anxious to win. I practiced with the high school as much as possible, despite running for Snowcrest Jr. High. I won a few outdoor meets, and dropped my mile time to a 4:40. At the district meet I took 2nd in the mile to Bronson Winter. During the 800m, I got a PR of 2:07.
Sophomore Year- I put in a good summer of running and was super excited for xc. I was now the 2nd man on the team. I had some really great races and continued to improve. I finished the regular season with a 16:00 5k. At footlocker west, i had a good race but not quite where i had hoped. Indoor came around and i had some nice PR's before i got bursitis in my left knee. Got better and transitioned to outdoor where the season started off well. After running my PR of 4:23 1600m, i got really sick and never got back to 100% during the season. I ended up at 9:41 for 2 miles, and 2:05 800m. I didn't have the performance I wanted at state, but im ready for the next year.

Personal: I will be a Junior at Weber High School this year. I'm LDS, and will be serving a 2 year mission after High School. I love animals, hiking/ fishing with my dad, and running with my friends. | | I drove down to Brayden's to go on a run with him today. We ran up to the caves, then down on the canal road which was covered in snow, and to 1050, then just back to his house on the road.

| | Easy run after the indoor track meeting with the guys. Kyler came this time after a pretty extended break... We just ran down by Orion Jr. High and back. I didn't get a pace on it but it wasn't too fast. Probably around 7:00's

| | 4 miles today for the first official indoor practice. We just took it pretty easy and tried to stay relaxed.

| | 4.7 miler with kyler today. We went down by Orion again and back up on Washington to Elberta. We went a little faster on this one.

| | Easy 4.3 today, then a fun plate workout in the weight room. I ran with Jake and Kyler again.

| | I decided to go to the USU indoor meet tomorrow so I took today easy. I drove over to Wheeler canyon and ran up towards Snowbasin. The trail was pretty packed down so running on the snow wasn't bad but it did slow the pace. That doesn't really matter today cause of the meet prep.

USU indoor invite (0.1 Miles) 00:00:00, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | I decided not to run any actual races today and just start the season off with some relay fun. Jake, Talon, Henry, and I raced the 4x800m and the 4x400m. We won both and set both meet records. (The relays at this meet are super slow so it's not a big accomplishment.) If I remember right, my 800m split was 2:11, and the 400 was 1:01. Neither was very fast but it was fun and im mentally ready to run fast at BYU next week.

| | Started doing morning runs again. I did a pretty fast 3 miles this morning at sub 6 pace.
At practice we did 5.6 with the guys at a 6:28 pace. After the run we went to the weight room and did a mostly lower body workout.

| | Longer run today. Most of the guys weren't there so it was just Henry and I crankin' it out. We were holding about a 5:50 pace until we hit the canal road and had to run on the snow. After about a mile we ditched it and went back up to the road. We finished with a 6:28 pace.

| | Today was an indoor circuit workout. We would do various core exercises and strength training, then sprint a lap through to school (about .2 miles) We just kept going for as many as we could in half an hour. After the circuit we cooled down and decided to do the last part of the sprinters "workout" to finish off the cool down cause they were complaining. After all that, we went to Haeli's and had smoothies then a group of us went to Box Elder High and did a pretty good pool workout with Brayen cause he still cant run.

BYU indoor invitational (1 Miles) 00:04:46, Place overall: 42 | | the day started out ok, then just went downhill...
Did a short warm up before the mile then realized i'd left my spikes at my aunts house (where we stayed the previous night) so i had to use Talon's which were a bit small. 20 steps into the race my left shoe came untied and i had to run the whole race with my shoe falling off. I finished in 4:46. Not even close to what i had been hoping for.
About 4 hours later Henry and I ran the 2 mile. This was my first 2 mile ever and i had no idea what the heck i was doing. Didn't feel good at all but finished in 10:15 (slower than my xc two mile split) Not my best day of racing but it's only indoor.

| | My knee has been bothering me the past couple days so I went to the trainer and she taped it and did an ultra sound but it didn't really work. Went for a painful 4 while the other guys did 6, and im pretty sure they still beat me back... darn

| | Went to the doctors today. I have intra patellar bursitis. Doc put some stuff on it and said I have to take it easy and stop when it hurts. Guess that means no racing at WSU.
Really slow 3 miles when i got home.

| | I went to go watch the team run at WSU. I couldn't race today but I went on every warm up and cool down i could to try to get some miles in. It felt good and i should be ready to do some sort of racing next week.

| | Short warm up then we did some 800 repeats. We were supposed to do 6-7, but i only got 3 in. The fast pace bothered my knee, and it was around the school not on the track, so that didn't really help. Averaged 2:19 on the three.
