Short-Term Running Goals:

In the next two years I'd like to qualify
for the 'Boston Marathon'.

I have a crazy dream to qualify for
the olympic games... but understand it's
very hard to do... so am not sure
if it's attainable... or what it would
take... I know there are a lot of fast
runners out there:D

In the next 6 months I'd like to try and
beat my personal best of: 3:34:56 in the
marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Qualifying for the Olympic Games. Without a doubt would

be a lifetime achievement.

Swam only 60 lengths of gym pool today.  I couldn't even manage the usual 80 lengths.  Total time was: 32:42.  In all fairness my arms were still sore from the cable ski at Batam and the gym workout yesterday.

No run again today.  I have a good swim, though.  Swam 60 lengths of the gym pool in 30:56... and did it pretty easy (even if my arms were still sore from yesterdays workout).

My weight for some is also low right now... I currently weigh 66.5kg... which seems odd considering I havn't been running.  (maybe it's the late nights... hmm).  (previous weight was 67.5kg).

This morning I ran a slow 32km in 3:26:14... the slowest time for that distance all year... I was suprised that my leg wasn't sore afterwards (although sore at the beginning).

I swam 60 lengths in 29:46 at the D'Force gym during lunch hour... afterwards we had lunch at Harry's with Matteo as it's his last day with us at work. (I cut my swim short because of this:))

I sore Dr. Benedict Tan today (Sports Physician) at 'Singapore Sports Medicine Centre'.  I finally got my shin checked out... it didn't take long before he told me the bad news...That's right, I've got a stress fracture... and the x-ray confirmed it.  He told me I must take a whole 3 months off running!  I couldn't believe it... although at the back of my mind I thought this might me the case (as the pain was in the bone reagon). 

So as you can imagine, I am really, really, disapointed.  I'm not only going to miss the Singapore Marathon in December.... but also the Hong Kong Marathon in February.  I guess I have no choice... So unfortunately, I wont be adding any running entries in here for a while...again, this has come as a shock...

Well, I hope the next three months go by quickly, because I love running so much... Reluctantly, I will be hanging up my running shoes for a while.  I hope to be back here soon!

Just now, during lunch hour, I swam 100 lengths of the gym pool in 48:04.  I felt good during the swim... and I didn't feel exhausted.  (which is good considering I had a hard workout in the gym yesterday).
