Weather - 42 degrees, sunny. Decided to do a speed session today, so ran a 1.5 mile warm-up to the Urbana HS track and then did 12 x 200m repeats. I concentrated on running at 100% power/speed and at the same time tried to remain controlled and relaxed as if it was an easy pace. My legs felt strong and did not become wobbly, and my breathing remained surprisingly calm. I think I ran all 12 at the same pace, so my endurance held out. When I compare the 200m repeats I did in November I can see I have made some progress. After the repeats I ran an easy 2.75 miles and then did 4 sets of strength exercises and stretching at Carle Park. 20 minute walk home. |
