Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm 35 years old, married, 3 kids, and I'm a Computing Analyst Sr. (Systems Programmer: Linux, Solaris, HPUX, manage Web Servers, Mysql). I've ran a total of 7 marathon's, lots of 5K and 10k races. I've never ran a half marathon race. My best marathon is 3:02, and my next marathon goal is a sub 3 and that attempt will be at Boston. I just started running marathon's in September 2005, and I've ran six marathons in the last seven months. I'm addicted to running marathon's their lots of fun. But I thought I needed to train harder for Boston so I'm not going to run anymore Marathon's until Boston. I want to try to get that PR of a sub 3 hours. I've never really followed a training program, but I've started running between 50 - 60 miles for the past 5 months. I started doing the Yasso 800s only one time so far. I do tempo runs during the week and a long run on Saturday's. I've started running a lot of hill routes to get ready for Boston. But any advice anyone has would greatly be appreciated. I know that I should be able to run a 2:50 marathon, and that's what I need to work towards. Like I said I haven't been running marathon's very long. I ran 5 miles on Saturday at a 6:27 pace here were my splits 6:47, 6:34, 6:36, 6:19, 5:57. I finished the week at 54 miles. |
