Today I woke up not feeling the greatest with a headache and feeling weak. This kind of started yesterday. But I got up and ran anyway, and I'm glad I did. I ran 3 warm-up miles and at the 2.5 mark I just felt weak, but after that my legs started getting in gear.

I ran to the track to do some speed work. I ran 6 x 400's and 1 x 1600.

400's

1. 68

2 69

3. 68

4. 69

5. 75

I didn't get the last one. My 1600 that I ran was just at a comfortable pace (5:51). I could have pushed harder but I decided to make it a tempo mile. I was amazed at my 400's for not feeling the greatest. I'm still feeling a little weak, and I'm not sure if I want to run on my lunch hour for 4 miles or not? My next marathon is on November 4th so I don't want to burn myself out. But I'm leaning on running because I just feel the need to do so.

Friday I will do my long run of 13 miles, because Saturday I will be pacing my daughter in her 5 k race, so running my long run on Saturday is out of the question with too many other things going on.

Totals for this mornings run: 9.51 miles at an overall 6:31 pace in 1:02

Lunch:

I couldn't pass a lunch run outside because the day was beautiful and I wanted more miles in for this week. I ran 4.42 miles at a 7:09 pace. (last mile 6:46).

Hope you start feeling better from your fall.

What race is you daugther running?

From wheakory on Thu, Oct 25, 2007 at 17:03:10

I feel better from the fall, except for my shoulder, where it has a constant ache in it from the fall. But it doesn't affect my running at all so there's no excuses.

She is running the Girls on the Run race, it's a 10k and 5k. Their expecting about 700 runners from what I heard. I'm going to try to get her to dip in the low 8's for the first two miles, then drop in the 7's for the last mile.

Does Idaho Falls have any races soon, I need to stay sharp and run some 5k/10k's after this marathon?

Jeff,

What is the course description for the run to Feed the Hungry on Thanksgiving day for the 5k and 10k?

From jtshad on Mon, Oct 29, 2007 at 09:18:22

It is a 5K and 10K that basically runs the greenbelt around the Snake River. The 10K does a loop or two around Freeman Park.
