Today I ran 10.1 miles at a easy slow pace of 7:10. I've ran hard the last couple days somewhat, so I took it easier today. I got about 7 hours of sleep last night, but I was still tired waking up.

Tomorrow 10k race, rush my daughter to her two soccer games 55 miles away (11am and 3pm are her games).

I haven't signed up for the Ogden marathon yet, because I don't know yet if I have to work that weekend. It's a 50/50 chance ... but I'm pretty sure I will be able to attend.  I hope I'm ready to run a 2:50 I just need to be aggressive.  If I hit the wall been aggressive at least I know I gave it a shot and not wonder.  I know in Boston I could have been under 2:50, because of the way I felt.

Ran this evening 4.6 miles in the high 6 minute mile pace.  (Easy run felt good)

Good to hear from someone new. Thanks, I'm pretty happy about my PR as well.

I didn't do as well in Boston as you did this year. I went out really strong and threw caution to the wind. I was on track to run a sub 2:50 marathon at Boston for the first 20 miles and then I died. I was doing like 11 minute miles the last 4 to 5 miles, I was so dead. I ran it in 3:05.

I've got mixed emotions about conserving and going all out. Every race that I gone all out on and pushed the pace, I finished a lot worse then I do when I run conservative.

During both of my sub 2:50 marathons I've ran, I've finished filling like I should have ran then 2 or 3 minutes faster. I'm still trying to find that perfect balance, but I feel a conservative pace is going to give one a better finish time then throughing caution to the wind.

St. George is a special run. Yes there is some down hill, but there are some pretty good hills. I feel St. George is such a marathon friendly course, because of the way the race finishes. The last 6 miles of the race are designed for a tired runner. The last 6 are downhill, and I'm talking down hill. It's pretty steep and fast, so do some down hill training, because it can really beat you up if your not ready for it.

Marathon pacing is a tricky business. It varies from time to time and from person to person, and takes a while to figure out. For Kory in Ogden, however, I would recommend hitting the first half in 1:24 and then seeing what happens.

Sasha I think your right, because I paced for 16 miles at 6:30 and did okay. I need to do more miles at this pace before Ogden.

Sasha what's your strategy going to be for Ogden. If you don't want to share because of competition I understand.
