Personal:

Pride necessarily sprouts and grows; a pride that can only come from relentless kneading of unwilling flesh, painful months of grinding and burning away all that is heavy, all that is strength-sapping and useless to the body as a projectile. --John L. Parker, Jr., runner/author

Challenging, exhillarating, painful, joyful, frustrating, beautiful...

Eternally grateful to my amazing wife, Isabel, for her support along my journey over the last 18 months (5 Marathons); my brother, Luke, and his wife, Melissa, for taking the time and making the sacrifice to come to Boston for an anxiety-filled weekend; and to my mother, Phyllis, and father, Mark, who have supported me, forgiven me, and loved me every day of my 29 years on this planet.

Dad, you did it.  You're the best role model a son could ever ask for.

And of course, to all of the FRBs who took me in, gave me advice, and treated me as one of their own, thanks.  Rob / Jeff / Walter / Steve / Adam -- you guys are awesome.

Best,

Wesley

Congrats to you and your dad on finishing a tough race in brutal conditions!

It was great meeting you in person, thanks for joining us for dinner.

Keep running strong and say hello to your dad!

So cool to meet you in Boston. After we left, Rob and I agreed that this was a guy who is going places. Long hard race Monday. Hopefully we will have some better ones!

Adam - Thanks for the support, as always. I just recognize that I am very blessed to have been born into circumstances that afforded me so many opportunities.

Jeff - Your effort on Monday was super-human and inspiring. Thanks for including me at dinner. You have a lovely family, and I enjoyed meeting all of you.

Steve - That's a very nice thing to say, particularly given my performance on Monday. But alas, as they say, if it was easy everyone would do it. Really enjoyed meeting you, Walter, and Rob as well. Rob is one of the key reasons that I've been able to run sub-3:00 twice over the last 18 months.
