22 Miles in 2:32:12 (6:55/mile) on the Little Rock/North Little Rock River Trail.  If God designed a perfect day for running, it would look pretty dang close to the low 40s and sunshine that I was graced with this afternoon.  

I ran the first 12 Miles at 6:45/mile, a little fast and aggressive given my target Marathon Pace of 7:15/mile. Despite my lack of discipline today, I ran strong and confidently.

I wouldn't call that a lack of discipline at all. You're just a better runner than you think you are.

Sub 3 should be your goal!

Thanks, Rob, but I am cautiously optimistic...

22 is not 26. And this is new territory for me. I am talking about shaving 45 minutes off my PR and while, admittedly, I've never trained properly, I'll start talking about sub-3:00 after sub-3:11.

Probably the biggest key to achieving a breakthrough time is just wrapping your brain around the idea that you can do it.

That is a stellar workout! I would echo that your goal is easily achievable and you should not be surprised to see sub-3:00 in your sights for the upcoming race.

For training purposes, 22 miles at that pace is equivalent to 26.2 miles...the last 4 at that point is overcoming your mental reservations!
