Went to the parking lot of Ben Lomond trail with Steve and did a 8 mile trail of awesomeness. I had so much fun on this trail! It went up to 9700' which is a pittly height for most trail runners. Last Saturday I did my first 13,000'er in Rocky Mountain Park. I really am amazed at the amount of tall mountains in Colorado. 32 14,000' peaks! I ran into mountain goats about 5 of them within 10'. I stopped in my tracks and was trying to pull my phone out while motioning to Steve without spooking them but it was too late. They were like white ghosts. I looked down the ravine and they didsapeared in the brush. Amazing creatures. I was dissapointed I couldn't get a pic but some life experiences you have to live in the moment without worrying about how to save it.

There are 53 14,000 ft peaks in Colorado.

Jake, you are correct. I meant to put 52. But it is 53. I want to do half those in the next few years!

Actually 55. But it's all in the definition. Check out the real animals:

Yeah, it's very much based on how you define prominence. Some lists have up to 60. And some of the ones that don't "count" are some of the ones that actually require some skills (El Diente, North Maroon, Sunlight Spire, etc).

That sounds about right. I told Walter a while back it was 32. He says this morning that Jake disagrees. :-) I told him you'd be the one to know and there has been an occasion where I was wrong. (long time ago) I think 32 is the Front Range count. I think I'm happy with 54 total. Love this on Pro boards though:

I heard there was 52 last week from My friend Jen Byrne from Lakewood, who I did a close 14er with last week. I say we start counting these ourselves Steve and settle this once and for all.
