I ran the Bonneville Shoreline trail up to the radio towers and the dropped down into City Creek. I went up City Creek Canyon for a few miles. As I was heading up I saw an entire herd of elk about 250 yards above me on the hillside. I counted ten of them but I think there were more that I couldn't see because of the scrub oak. I see deer almost every day, but it is not very often that I see elk. I have never seen that many that close before. It was super cool. The run today was good. Parts of the trails were snow covered and I had to make fresh tracks. Most of it was only a few inches deep, but it got up to eight inches deep in a few spots. |
