Ran in the morning. Did some impromptu intervals. 3 miles warm up. Then 1 mile @ 7:40ish pace. Then a mile easy, then 1/2 mile fast with about 1/2 mile easy. The 1/2 miles fast were 3:50, 3:38, 3:36 and then, after 1/4 mile easy, a 3:40 or so 1/2 mile. I felt pretty good about the pace.

It was colder and windy. It took me a few miles before I agreed with my own decision to wear shorts.

Nice going on the speedwork. Shorts is always the correct decision.

Always? Maybe in Texas. Definitely not in Illinois. Good luck tomorrow!

Nice intervals Tracy. I still find the best results in impromptu workouts. Shorts are for sure ok down to ~29 degrees. :)

Hope the bad storms missed you!

I wore shorts down to 18 or 19 deg in Oklahoma, but I'll have to let you two test them below that. Not gonna happen here!

No thanks on the shorts when it's that cold. Anything in the 30s and I'm in pants. Too much of a baby.

We didn't get much damage other than part of our fence blew down, Matt, but we are waiting to hear about some neighboring areas, Gifford and Flatville. They are to the east and south, both 5-10 miles. They got hit pretty bad. Not a lot of news out yet, other than word of mouth, but I've seen a youtube clip that shows some of the damage. Some friends had damage to their house, and we've heard conflicting information (damage vs total loss), so we're pretty concerned. We were stuck at Walmart, of all places, when the storm hit.

Glad to hear you got out with only a little damage. Even though it's just a fence it's still kind of a pain in the butt.

Walmart.. I've always worried about getting stuck there in a storm. No better way of feeling helpless than being stuck inside a big popcan. Hopefully your friends turn out ok, too!

Most walmarts are made out of paper mâché, so I'm glad y'all were alright.
