I did 6 half-heartedly.

I am finally done grading research papers!  Yay!  Now my life is a little less stressful.  The thing that is creating some stress for me is now that XC is over, my routine has been altered, and I have to find a new rhythm.  During the season, if I run at 3:30, I'm fine.  But not in season, when I get home at 4 or 4:15, I am starving and then I have to wait until Chuck comes home to take the kids.  But then it's almost dinner and I'm even more starving.  And then you factor in the darkness...I'll get back into it, even if I have to go back to treadmill running for a couple months.

Congratulations on finishing up the research papers.

I'm confident that you'll find a way to run. You just need to get a new routine. Remember, we still have to do our mile "race" so that should keep you going for a little while. I'll probably ready for it towards the end of next week.

I just read an article about the state XC meet here. The high school that my kids go to had two girls place in the top 3. The girl who got 2nd place is a Junior and I think she's one to watch. I don't think their boys are much to write home about.

April--I'm trying to fend off the treadmill as long as I can. We'll see. Maybe I'll be running outside this winter, but I was actually thinking of getting a personal trainer to help me strengthen my arms and back.

And Carolyn, did the high school win the meet? 2 in the top 3 is pretty impressive! In our class, the team that had two in the top 4 took 5th because the rest of their varsity wasn't as strong.

Carolyn, I was thinking we could maybe do our race next weekend (Saturday) or something. That way I can run in the morning. And hopefully by then my cold is gone. Check your training schedule and see if it would fit in.

It looks like they took 4th at state. Here's a link to a newspaper article about it, in case you're interested:

http://coloradocommunitynewspapers.com/articles/2009/11/13/highlands_ranch_herald/sports/12_spts_state_xc_hr_ds.txt

The article talks about all the high schools in the area. Our high school is called Highlands Ranch.

I could do the mile race next Saturday if you want. My train schedule is actually over as of today, so I'm doing whatever I feel like for the next couple of months until I start a marathon training schedule for a Spring marathon. So I can do it pretty much any day. Just let me know what works for you.
