Short-Term Running Goals:

2023 GOALS:

Coastal Delaware Running Festival Marathon - 4/16/23 - Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

20.75 Miles. Legacy Trail to Caspersen Beach and back. 2:57:19. 8:33 pace. 64 Deg. 100% hum. 64 d.p. 7 am start. (Boy #2 had a fever last night, therefore, no foosball today, therefore, dad starts running later. Capitalizing on my child's illness- PRICELESS!)

Bad news- This is @ 30 seconds per mile slower than I was looking for. Good news - It really FELT like I was running easy. Also, I ran the second half faster than the first. That is pretty rare for me.

p.s. I got home to a seemingly "cured" child. Hmmm. What's that kid's angle?

Nice one, especially at 64F. Given your PRs, I agree it should have felt easy, but that doesn't stop me from envying your nice brisk pace. No opinion on your kid, my own have enough angles to keep track of.

Perfect timing on your kid's illness and curing! Hope he feels better! Slow long runs are definitely not bad. Just think of how much quicker you'll recover after still getting all that time on your feet. What's with that humidity! At least the temp was alright.

You outkicked me for the week!

...says the guy running 90 seconds per mile faster than me!

Way to take advantage! I skipped church and mad the wife take the kids to Sunday school today so I could sleep in and run long. That's probably worse. Anyway, slogging that distance through heat/humidity will do things to you, as I'm sure you're aware - important thing is you got it in.
