Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 18, and 19.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

Recap:

Sat. 12/18 High school state championship football game in Fort Lauderdale.

Sun. 12/19 Started Coughing.

Mon. 12/20 Took home rapid Covid test. Negative. I work from home. I kept working.

Fri. 12/24 Still coughing. Cancelled the big Polish Chirstmas Eve dinner with my parents. Covid or not, I don't need to be coughing around the elderly. Very sad Christmas Eve. We did the breaking of the Oplatek here in my house. And I guess it is time for me to take over leading that job. But my dad is still around. It is his job.

Sun 12/26 Went to walk in Clinic. They gave me a rapid covid test. Negative. No temperature. No other symptoms besides coughing. There are only two diagnosis in the walk in clinic right now. "Covid" and "Covid Syptomatic." When you are a hammer, everything looks like a Covid nail. So they sent out a PCR test, that was supposed to get back to me in a couple of days. It is so depressing that the medical profession has been reduced to this. All of my concerns about my lack of supporting symptoms were immediately kicked to the curb. I said that all of the congestion was only in the left lung. They told me I was wrong and used a medical term that blamed my asymetrical coughing style and said it was muscle fatigue. You know, like with Covid. They did an x-ray to rule out pneumonia. And then sent me on my way with 3 scripts. The drugs are, at least, helping me to sleep better.

Wed. 12/29 Results in from PCR test. Negative. That is 2 rapid test negatives and 1 PCR test negative in 10 days, for no other syptoms besides persistent coughing.  I called my primary care Doc's office, and laid my "It's really not Covid" saga on them. They prescribed me some medicine. A medicine that is a duplicate, but in a higher dose from what was prescribed by the walk in clinic. So I had to call them back to figure out what I'm supposed to do.

I am no closer to knowing why I'm coughing all day then I was 10 days ago. It has all been a huge waste of time. And I can't stand the thought of seeking anymore "help" with this situation. I can never prove I don't have Covid. I mean, I'm coughing. It HAS to be Covid, right?

So sorry to hear all this Tom. I hope the coughing is resolved soon, if not already. It's January 6th - Happy Birthday to you.
