Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

10.2 miles Legacy Trail to Colonia and back. 5:30 am start. 1:22:07. 8:03 pace. 54 deg. 82% hum. 48 d.p. Very smooth and easy. These Tuesday runs are brutal to get going, but I am starting to see the benefits. 

BTW, The night job would like to do a article about me for the company newsletter. My co-worker wrote into the main office and said some flattering stuff. I am a bit uneasy about this. They want me to sign a release that would allow them to use my running story wherever (and whenever) they choose. It's not like I'm an elite runner that is trying to control his "brand," or anything. But this feels a little weird. Obviously, I am proud enough of my running accomplishments to write them here everyday. What would you do?

I'd go for it. It's pretty neat they're wanting to do an article on you. Personally I think it'd be neat for your kids to see (years from now, too). It's always fun to see dad's picture in a publication. :)

You're doing awesome with these Tuesday runs, too. I'm impressed that you're able to do them on such little sleep. It's great that you're seeing the benefits from running on tired legs, too. Nice work.

It's just their lawyers, I guarantee the editor doesn't even know what is in the form. As a lawyer, my advice would be to sign the form (but don't read it, it will just depress you), then charge them dearly for the next one.

Matt, the being tired thing wasn't a problem until I went to Boy #1's Little League game last night. I might have voiced my opinion about the strike zone a little too much.

Sounds good to me. Hard to see any downside unless you're embarrassed by it. My old company wanted to do something similar when they found out I did Boston last year, but I left them before anything got published.

Nice run today, i know what you mean about those being hard to start, but I'm always glad I did too.
