Went to Pipeline to get a trail run in. It was gorgeous out, the snow was nicely packed, and we were above the nasty air. Unfortunately Nate sprained his ankle badly 2 miles in so we had to turn around and walk 2 miles back to the car.

Just a guess on distance. Thought running laps at the fieldhouse was better than breathing the air outside. The indoor track is a great place to people watch. All kinds of interesting.

Warmup with Vanessa., 5k in 24:30 (by my watch, 24:37 gun time), cool down with Vanessa. Not bad at all considering I rarely run under 9 minute miles anymore and haven't done any speed work since summer. Splits were all pretty consistent around 7:53. It's been awhile since I ran sub 8s on a non-aided coourse.  

Looking back, I ran this race about 1 minute faster than 2012 (didn't run last year).  I didn't run the miles that I wanted to in 2013, but I worked on my strength and core and it seems to be paying off. I'm really enjoying running right now and I'm running better lately than I have in several years.  Looking forward to the rest of 2014!
