11 miles by my lonesome. I really do need to make the effort to run with the running groups for my long runs. It would make these runs so much more enjoyable. Also, I can't wait for Ry to get better to join me!

I tried to talk Smo into some extra miles with me but between her three basketball teams and track she really is pretty exhausted. I'm excited to see how both her and Sherm do in Regionals. :-)

What happened to Ryan? I'm sure you can fix him. :)

Congrats to your kids!

I did 20 by my lonesome today. Including 14 circling the Highland High track.

I'm simple minded.

Rhett,

Ry herniated a disc. We are finally getting to the point where he can run a bit. Nothing crazy, but better than nothing. About a month or so ago (give or take ... it's all a blur now) Ry became a bit fanatic about exercise and went Weekend Warrior to the umpteenth degree on me. Oh yeah, it was Memorial weekend. It's all coming back. Anyway, at the end of the day (after running and mountain biking) he decided to play 2 on 2 with a few of the kids out front. Went for a block and came down hard and in a crazy position. No good!!! Herniated a disc. Luckily I know several of the docs here (and a pretty decent PT ;-)) so we were able to treat it agressively rather quickly. He's not back to normal, but getting closer and closer each day. :-)

Rob,

I LOVE watching my kids do their thing. Now about your 14 laps at the HS track ... WHAT IN THE H?!?!? Please tell me you were changing directions periodically!! ;-) And 20 on your own ... to me that is crazy tough. You must have will and determination out of the wazoo!!!

No, 14 miles. That's 56 laps.

Why? Because the track is squishy and felt good on my 50 year old legs.

WHAT?!?!? Did I read that right??? You are insane Mister Murphy!!!! INSANE!!!!!

Thumbs up for squishy!

From Rhett on Mon, Jun 22, 2015 at 21:34:41 from 199.117.154.54

Wow, Ryan was in full beast mode that weekend. Too bad it ended in such a painful fashion. I hope he is 100% soon. You need your running buddy back.

And Rob, I've done a lot of insane things running, but 56 laps going round and round and not getting anywhere...that's crazy!
