10.5 miles: AP - 8:01

Hill workout day. The plan was 10.5 miles total with hillwork during the middle 5 miles, and if possible to pick up the pace on the second half of the hill miles. It worked beautifully.

1.0 - 3.0   0%  incline @ 7:45 pace

3.0 - 3.7   3% incline: 8:34 pace

3.7 - 4.7   1% incline: 8:34 pace

4.7 - 5.0    6% incline: 8:34 pace

5.0 - 5.5    1% incline: 8:34 pace

5.5 - 6.4    1% incline: 8:00 pace

6.4 - 6.8    4% incline: 8:00 pace

6.8 - 7.4    1% incline: 8:00 pace

7.4 - 8.0     6% incline: 8:00 pace

8.0 - 10.0   0% incline: 7:45 pace

10.0 - 10.5    cooldown

** Everything felt great, although the final hill at 6% was stinkin' tough. :)

8:00 at 6%??? You're so popular!

From RivertonPaul on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 12:26:35 from 67.42.27.114

Hey, what do you and your PT think about the KT tape Rhett and others are fans of? Anything else that will help my recovery?

From Andy on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 12:29:34 from 199.190.170.24

6% incline at 8:00? I know I've said this before but WOW!

From Teena Marie on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 12:45:39 from 155.99.200.142

Burt and Andy -- It was barely over 1/2 of a mile. And it was TOUGH!!! But it was in the end so I knew I could just get through it. There was a little bit of an endorphin rush, I must admit, because I wasn't sure that I could do it and was stoked when I realized I could. So I am sure that helped some.

Paul and Andy -- Okay, first, my PT is a huge advocate of the KT tape. In fact, I believe that he might start teaching some sort of class for athletic trainers on how to use it. The great thing about it is that it is completely non-invasive so if you try it and decide it's not for you ... no big deal -- no harm, no foul!

Seriously, why don't you both let me tape you up (I'm obviously not a PT -- but anyone can put the KT tape on, and I have seen it done multiple times). I could also put you both on e-stim for a bit. Like I said, no harm, no foul. If it helps ... GREAT!!! You can then go buy a roll and do it yourself. And if not ... oh well, it was worth a go. :)

From RivertonPaul on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 12:58:54 from 67.42.27.114

Thanks for the invite. I should take you up on your offer. Andy, are you bringing chips and salsa? I'll bring Diet Mtn. Dew. :)

From Huans32 on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 12:59:11 from 138.64.8.52

I helped the wife a few times with taping up here achilles when it was giving her grief. So I would give it a try. At least have someone that knows how to put it on help you then you can do it yourself after.

From Burt on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 12:59:38 from 206.19.214.144

Paul really loves Diet Mt. Dew.

From DonGardinero on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 13:03:01 from 75.162.164.23

Awesome job, Teena!!! You are inspiring.

From Andy on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 13:03:20 from 159.212.71.25

Not really interested in being taped to Paul (no offense). Too kinky for me.

From Teena Marie on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 13:09:43 from 155.99.200.142

Oh man!!! I am laughing so so so hard! Here I am trying to sit quietly in the biology bldg preparing for my lab today and I just bursted out a big 'ol giggle!!! Stink!!!!

Btw, I like chips and salsa, but I'm more of a diet vanilla coke girl! :)

Dale -- You have always been the inspiring one. I remember reading your stuff the first time on FFs. You have overcome quite a bit! :)

(BTW Andy -- would you prefer to be taped to Burt?)

From Teena Marie on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 13:09:59 from 155.99.200.142

(or perhaps Mark???)

From Andy on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 13:14:24 from 159.212.71.25

I really do not have a specific type but Paul, Burt and Mark are definitely not my type.

From Teena Marie on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 13:15:32 from 155.99.200.142

Okay ... I so have to stop laughing!!!!

From Burt on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 13:29:57 from 206.19.214.144

Teena - you are now marked for my wall of shame. Expect me to post one of your embarrassing pictures soon.

From Teena Marie on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 13:37:09 from 155.99.200.142

No, no, no ... Burt. C'mon, we are friends!!! :)

I just need a good laugh right now ... this Analyzing the Vitamin C in Fruit Juices lab is just not doing it for me!

Please ... play nice! :)

From RAD on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 14:26:00 from 67.172.229.125

What a workout Teena! And what fun posts for me to laugh my guts out this afternoon! You guys are crazy!

From Smooth on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 16:06:11 from 174.23.239.148

O man! How did I miss this? I'm laughing sooooo hard! :-D!!! Be sure to invite me to the taping party. I'll bring diet vanilla coke and chocolate!

SSF ~ Stinkin' AWESOME hill workout. Way to DISGUISE your 2nd speed workout of the week!!! I can't believe Andy didn't call you on it! VERY COOL Newton Hills simulation and at mp to boot. Hearbreak hill has nothing on ya! Love you! :)

From Kathie on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 18:10:34 from 63.248.105.188

I told Andy I didn't want to come to the party but maybe I spoke to soon. He is going to be at Lake to Lake maybe we can have it there?

From Teena Marie on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 18:51:29 from 174.52.45.85

Rachel -- You are just as crazy!!! :)

Smooth -- Andy didn't call me on it because he gave me permission at Great Harvest. Uphills don't seem to aggravate my body, it's the stupid downhills. SO ... a hillwork on the TM keeps me safe! :) Love you!!!

Kathie -- But hopefully Andy won't need the tape by Lake to Lake if we tape it up now. :)

From Kelli on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 20:07:09 from 71.219.89.82

GREAT WORK! That everything feeling great thing makes me happy! I think you are healed forever.

From JohnnyV on Fri, Feb 26, 2010 at 11:13:06 from 204.124.13.151

Teena,

I was going to ask if you wanted to run tomorrow, but looking at that workout never mind you would kick my butt...

From Rhett on Fri, Feb 26, 2010 at 17:04:43 from 74.32.219.217

6% at 8:00 near the end of a tough run!!!!! WOW!!!!! Will you pace me through the Newton Hill's at Boston? I am completely in awe of how well your training is going right now. I hope some of it rubs off on me as I read your blog.
