Personal: I didnt even know XC existed my freshman year. The only reason I did it was because my friend Rebecca didnt want to be alone so being a good friend I joined with her, only to find out that I liked it. Ive been influenced by my dad and brother. They easily run everyday and I look at them in disbelief at how they do it. My brother use to drink a six pack of coke or more everyday. He was overweight and didnt give much interest into running. Suddenly one day he comes back to visit (since he lived in Nevada at the time) and we noticed he lost the weight. He caught the bug for running. (The garmin thats my profile picture is an example of his time) My dad qualified for the Boston marathon and was a great runner when he was young. Though he's aged he still keeps at it. I think all I want to do is be like them. I want to love running. I want to catch that bug that everyone seems to get. |

| | Couldnt go to pipeline with the team dad has work at 7:30 and its a whole mess up with the car. So instead I went to Sugarhouse at 8a.m and ran laps around. Legs were heavy and I ran horribly. I felt sluggish also. Kept checking my pace and it was around 8:43-9. Not so good. Not good at all. |

Did the cross country workout with the team. I'll bring my dinosaur of a garmin next time.

Feeling pretty good today. My legs were rather heavy a few days ago and on monday I felt a bit faint. Much better today!!! Did my 3 sets of 25 crunches and 10 push ups. Gotta get use to it. |

| | Went to the gym and ran 3 trying to see were I'm at. Did it in 25:34. Not as good as I would have liked but I'll get it back. Noticed that if you watch dramatic shows with car chases and such you run well. Or atleast I do. Jogged at an easy pace for my cool down. (1 mile) Then went to do crunches and lost count after 75. Took breaks in between but kept going. I hope that isnt bad...I dont feel it...yet. After that I went to do calf extensions, leg presses and hip abductors. |

| | Went to the gym. Kinda did the same thing as yesturday. Crunches, calf extensions, leg press, and such. Felt okay. Core feels tight and my shoulders a bit meh...Super hungry!!! Mmmmm fooooood. |

Fun Days 5K Race (3.1 Miles) 00:26:08, Place overall: 241, Place in age division: 7 | |
The first thing I knew when I woke up was that it wasnt going to be a good day. My stomache hurt and I was getting a bunch of cramps. Took some pills they helped a tad and went on with the race. It was a fun race that was mentally challenging for me. Not so bad hills...but a bit of an incline which went on for pretty much the whole race I would say? or 2 miles of it. My dad said he was going to pace me but I told him that if he could do better then he should go faster. (His form throws me off so i found a runner that had a good form and went with them...thats how I kind of teach myself to keep going while keeping a good form...just easier for me that way, strangely so) My dad went ahead and got a 24:06. He beat my PR that i got in regions last year by secounds. Overall it was a good race. I felt horrible so when I got home I quickly fell asleep and didnt wake up until 6....VERY LONG TIME!!! Just wasnt feeling it. I'm glad I did it though. |

| | Did the work out with the team at Cottonwood Complex where regions takes place.. Felt pretty good today. It probably hasnt hit me yet. Our warm up was about 2 miles for those who did the short one. After that we added sprints across the field. We did the famous Bessy 4 times with the loop to the finish line. We also ran the actual course which added 3 more miles. It started to get hot! Overall that added up to About 6.73 so I ran a bit more to get 7miles even. |

Did the medium run with the team at Sugarhouse. We kinda got lost and decided to just run until the miles added up. So we went down to 900 E. Then south a bit, then headed back once we got to three. Legs felt heavy but when I got home I took an ice bath so I wont be as sore tomorrow. Even though its like 75 degree water its way cold at first. Core and push ups. |

Went to Sunnyside with the team and chose to do the medium run. Ran all the way to 1300 South with the short run people then broke off and went up to Wasatch Dr. At this point I was feeling really good and kept at a steady pace. (I noticed that my legs didnt really feel heavy or sore (woo ice bath!)) Followed it all the way down until I hit Thunderbird then I went back down to foothill and turned right. I messed up there because I was suppose to go left to the fountain but I heard wrong and was too excited to almost be done. Ran north on Foothill then west on sunnyside. I was at 5.50 when I got back and to make it 6 miles I did a quick loop around the park. Wasatch Dr. is so pretty I like it up there :) core and push ups! Done Did Done. |
