Last track season I broke 7mins in the mile

2009-2010 XC season I got a 24:36.5 at regions compared to my freshman year where I was getting about 29mins-28

Short-Term Running Goals:

Break 20mins in a 5k

Break 6mins in the mile

Run a Marathon




I didnt even know XC existed my freshman year. The only reason I did it was because my friend Rebecca didnt want to be alone so being a good friend I joined with her, only to find out that I liked it. Ive been influenced by my dad and brother. They easily run everyday and I look at them in disbelief at how they do it. My brother use to drink a six pack of coke or more everyday. He was overweight and didnt give much interest into running. Suddenly one day he comes back to visit (since he lived in Nevada at the time) and we noticed he lost the weight. He caught the bug for running. (The garmin thats my profile picture is an example of his time) My dad qualified for the Boston marathon and was a great runner when he was young. Though he's aged he still keeps at it. I think all I want to do is be like them. I want to love running. I want to catch that bug that everyone seems to get.

Went to Sunnyside with the team and chose to do the medium run. Ran all the way to 1300 South with the short run people then broke off and went up to Wasatch Dr. At this point I was feeling really good and kept at a steady pace. (I noticed that my legs didnt really feel heavy or sore (woo ice bath!)) Followed it all the way down until I hit Thunderbird then I went back down to foothill and turned right. I messed up there because I was suppose to go left to the fountain but I heard wrong and was too excited to almost be done. Ran north on Foothill then west on sunnyside. I was at 5.50 when I got back and to make it 6 miles I did a quick loop around the park. Wasatch Dr. is so pretty I like it up there :) core and push ups! Done Did Done.

Did the medium run with the team at Sugarhouse. We kinda got lost and decided to just run until the miles added up. So we went down to 900 E. Then south a bit, then headed back once we got to three. Legs felt heavy but when I got home I took an ice bath so I wont be as sore tomorrow. Even though its like 75 degree water its way cold at first. Core and push ups.
