Long-Term Running Goals:

I love training with others both on road and trail. I also find benefits of running solo when I need to focus and regroup.

Fun fact: Although I prefer to run outside, I don't mind the treadmill for pace accountability and for the blind assumption that I can run really fast. I have a lot of secret treadmill PR's at 0% incline:)

Great company this morning! Met up with Kam, Andy and Shantell on one of the trailheads to Legacy Trail. Everyone was warmed up already, I should have done the same. We decided to go into a progressive tempo with two out and back. Paces were 7:09, 7:00, 6:39 and 6:19. The first two were against a stronger headwind. The third was the easist and the last felt suprisingly comfortable, considering the pace. The pack mentality was so helpful. Looking back, I should have stayed within a tempo pace in the last mile. Next time. Maybe.

I need to get some more miles later tonight.

that's a great progresso tempo.

I love that the last mile felt "comfortable" to you. You are a rock! Thanks for pushing me today. I am very impressed! And, no hard feelings for leaving me in the dust at the end. I'd hate to hold anyone back!!

Sounds like a pretty fun group! Great tempo.

Nobody would say 'no hard feelings' unless they are really harboring hard feelings.

Burt! Shantell Burt is crazy. You'll know in time.

I wish there was a "like" button on here sometimes.

I'm just glad Shantell commented on your blog before I did because I didn't realize she was on the blog. I would've hated to have said something like, "I bet Shantell is a hottie. With a name like that, how can you not be?" That would have been embarrassing.

Now, if you'll please excuse me, I've got 8 junk mails to read through.

did you already pick up your packet?

From Tara on Fri, Jul 19, 2013 at 10:43:50 from 75.169.143.45

No, I was planning on picking up tonight in Farmington around 715, then get a few miles in before the race to make it a long run. Not sure why Walter said pick up was in Ogden. Did he mean Farmington? How about you?

From Kam on Fri, Jul 19, 2013 at 11:12:17 from 68.66.163.179

I didn't pick up yet. Any chance you can grab mine? I'm thinking about running down to the start, or running home afterward to get around 20. Pickup yesterday was in NSL. Walter was confused, for sure. I'm planning on being to the start line around 9:30; Andy gave me the pace bands to distribute.

From Tara on Fri, Jul 19, 2013 at 11:22:14 from 75.169.143.45

Smart idea. It doesn't really make sense to take the bus both ways. Lots of time wasted. I'll pick up your packet and meet you at the start.
