Great run with Ken Carlson this morning. Met at the store and drove up the SGMarathon Course 15 miles. Little cold at first so I bundled up - but it got warm pretty quick as we got going.  By the end of the run I must have looked pretty fun with my tights on, shirt off and my two tops wrapped around my waist.

Anyways, here are the splits below:

1. 6:59

2. 6:51 - going up out of Dammeron Valley miles 2-4

3. 6:46

4. 6:40

5. 6:15 -heading into Diamond Valley

6. 6:05

7. 5:48 - Going around the volcano to the north SC entrance.

8. 5:57 - Water stop

9. 5:46

10. 6:04 - half of winchester hill

11. 6:03 - other half of winchester hill and a stop to put a stick in my shoe

12. 5:32

13. 5:34 - Ken and I taking turns leading - nice strong pace - really felt great.

14. 5:40 -

15. 5:50 - At the end my legs started tightening up a little and Ken dropped me and a 5:18 the last mile.

Really happy about my performance this morning. I'm mostly happy about my leg turnover for those two mile at 5:30 pace. At the time it felt pretty smooth. I'm looking forward to my 5 mile tempo on Sat.

Evening Club run 7 mile loop. Pretty tired - very slow.

Good job Steven Abraham Lincoln Hooper. Keep it up and you'll end up with a good week. And you do have to prove yourself to Me!

nice run. that run looks like it was pretty much a tempo run for the most part

You guys are awesome- nice run! Ken is great, I got to watch him orchestrate (sp?) the Bloomington Hills Elementary Track Meet Wed. and he's coached my son in Dixie Dashers- so glad to be able to rub shoulders with him.

Great running, Steve. No shirt and tights--that's a solid look.

From Wildbull on Fri, Apr 18, 2008 at 13:10:34

Steve, you are really getting into great shape! I think your going to have a break through year with your marathon time! holding that pace for that many miles shows your getting there.

From Superfly on Fri, Apr 18, 2008 at 17:28:30

Chad I had to laugh at that comment about Steven in only his tights. "A solid look" is the only way that could be put. LOL!

Great workout. Why did you put a stick in your shoe in mile 11? Is this some secret strategy I am not aware of? I need to start putting some sticks in my shoes!
