Ran Skyline drive route today, which has a very steep climb and then a long downhill section.  Wind was strong going towards the canyon.  End result was 7.91 miles in 1:08:53 for an average pace of 8:42/mile.  Individual mile paces were all over the place:  9:34, 10:14, 7:17, 8:14, 8:40, 9:00, 8:26, and 8:12.

Up to the mouth of the canyon and back.  Heavy winds as usual.  6.2 miles in 54:01 or 8:43/mile.

Ran the Murdock trail to the north, which turns out to be pretty flat.  Managed to increase my speeds each mile with 9:42, 8:26, 8:20, 8:09, 8:00, and 7:56 for an overall average of 8:24/mile or 52:43 for 6.28 miles.

I've started doing some long, bounding, inefficient strides during my first mile to warm up.  It is pitch black, so I don't think anyone sees me to laugh at me.

Persuaded Ben to run up the canyon with me today.  I was pulling him the whole time.  But then he left me in the dust for the last mile.  He just doesn't have as much experience managing his energy as I do.

Ran 10.72 miles in 1:35:24 for an average pace of 8:54
