Short-Term Running Goals:

Recovering from micro-fracture surgery on my right knee.  I tore the cartilage off of my knee while doing a speed-training run one month before Boston.  Doc gave me a cortisone shot so that I was able to finish Boston.  After the surgery, I was told to never run again. :(

Ran Boston on April 14, 2012!

"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better." Running for His Life by Michael Hall

Seriously...I put on 4 pounds in Vegas! I now have some motivation to get back at running! ha!  Ran 5 around the neighborhood that I grew up in.  My mom babysat for me. 5 in 41 and felt pretty good except my knee started throbbing at mile 3! I will be buying an elliptical this week, so any input would be great.  So far the advice I have is Costco and it has to have the bigger stride.  So, off to Costco I will go tomorrow!

Here's my advice: let your husband put it together. You'll just mess it up. LOL!!! Seriously though, I can't believe I didn't see you in Vegas while I was there. Wait, were you one of the girls dancing on the table?

From Burt on Mon, May 02, 2011 at 21:15:42 from 206.19.214.144

Did you like how I said seriously, and I was anything but serious?

From Steam8 on Mon, May 02, 2011 at 22:53:09 from 166.70.55.77

Where did you stay at Vegass! ha! I hate that place! It is sttiiiinnnkkyy! The only thing I like to do there is eat and people watch (and there was plenty of that). Okay, laying by the pool wasn't too bad either--and people watching at the pool! I was out walking around early on Saturday and Sunday. I bet you ran past me and my husband. I wish I would have known you were there, I would have been on the lookout! Honestly, the only thing I was looking at where the EXTREMELY short dresses and the unbelievably high heels.haha!

Extremely short dress and unbelievably high heels? You did see Burt! Did he try to high five you when he went by?

From Burt on Mon, May 02, 2011 at 23:24:42 from 72.223.90.79

I stayed at my mom and aunt's house in North Las Vegas. But my convention was at Planet Hollywood.

Trap - I'm gonna high five you!

Ahaahaa! Rattletrap...that was funny!

Burt, I walked the mile mall in there twice and walked by there a couple of times. We were at the Bellagio.

From Burt on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 10:07:48 from 72.223.90.79

The Bellagio is amazing. We stayed there when we did Ragnar last year.

From Steam8 on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 10:13:50 from 166.70.55.77

I just got asked to do Ragnar. I don't even really know anything about it. Was it fun? Should I do it?

From Burt on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 10:31:09 from 72.223.90.79

Ragnar is the funnest race EVER! Here's my opinion. Racing hurts. Ragnar hurts. But when you have 11 friends cheering you on the entire way, it makes the pain quite pleasant.

Which one did they ask you to do? Wasatch Back?

From rAtTLeTrAp on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 10:42:27 from 69.96.153.193

Ragnar Relays are great! Just go to the race reports section and read about some. You'll be sold!

From Steam8 on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 11:03:48 from 166.70.55.77

I haven't ever done a relay...If you say it's fun, I will do it. It is Ragnar that I was asked to do in Oct.

From Burt on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 12:05:28 from 72.223.90.79

That's the Las Vegas one.

From Kelli on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 13:38:38 from 71.219.96.115

Do not know a thing about elipticals, they make my feet fall asleep. but they say they are the next best thing to running! Good luck!

I am sure the 5 pounds go completely unnoticed, you are a tiny twig!

From Kelli on Tue, May 03, 2011 at 13:40:10 from 71.219.96.115

OH, and Ragnar Vegas is GREAT! As long as you like the people you are running with, you will have a blast. My advice is do it for fun, do not consider at a RACE.
