Get back into shape and lower my running times (5K and 10K in particular).

Run a half marathon and possibly a marathon.

Still be running 20+ years from now.

Personal:

I ran cross country and track in high school in good old Indiana and at Valparaiso University in college. I've been married for 14 years now to my beautiful wife Kathleen. We have 3 wonderful kids, and I teach physics, astronomy, and earth science at Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL.

An evening run around the golf course and the hospital.  My legs were tired tonight, but it felt good to run.  Total time was 29:45 (8:02/mile).

Same route as last Tuesday.  I felt much better today than yesterday.  Total time was 37:42 (7:41/mile).

A little different route that included a 3/4 golf course run, around the hospital and down to Grease Monkey.  I felt good.  No knee or quad troubles.  Total time was 32:34 (7:45/mile).

A shorter run in the morning.  My quad started hurting after about 1.5 miles.  Total time was 23:06 (7:42/mile).

I ran the loop up to campus and back tonight.  I decided to try going a little faster since it was getting dark.  Total time was 36:09 (7:22/mile) for the 4.9.  It felt pretty good, but my quad was hurting near the end.  I think I pushed the pace too much in the beginning before warming up enough.
