Grow in my enjoyment of running, regardless of pace/times Personal: I currently run for Wofford College in South Carolina, where I double major in biology and Spanish. I will be spending 5 months studying abroad in Chile in 2017. I love cookie dough a little too much and spend most of my free time outside or asleep (or both). | | Warmed up a few minutes on the elliptical and then tried to do a mile on the treadmill....nope. Ix-nayed that one real quick, leg hurt too bad. The fact that it doesn't hurt at all to elliptical but it hurts so bad to run and sometimes even walk makes me worry that it could be a bone thing, not a muscle thing because it's the impact that hurts, not the exertion. Yikes. Anyways, 35 minutes on the elliptical + weights and abs.

| | First run since last Monday. I just wanted to test it out because the leg had been feeling much better while walking around at least, for the least 2 or 3 days. I started out really slow and gentle but as soon as I shifted from walking to running and started putting a little more force with each step the pain set back in. I am so sick of not running though that I pushed through it anyways, maybe not a good idea but it started feeling better after about a mile and a half. After 2 it felt fine, and I was running like normal for the rest of the run, which felt so great. I love to run! Afterwards I felt good and stretched, took a shower, but then by the time I got out it was hurting again to walk like it had been last week. Ughhhh

| | 36 minutes elliptical, abs, upper body weights. One positive of all this is that I am really building up my core and upper body strength!

| | Did a suprisingly challenging workout on the elliptical today. 5 minute warm up, then a sort of fartlek of 5/4/3/2/1/2/3/4/5 (minutes) hard, with equal recovery after the rep. So it was like 5 hard, 5 conversational, 4 hard, 4 conversational, and so on. It wasn't too bad on the way down the ladder, but on the way back up, oh boy. I've done this one running, and it's definitely challenging to keep the same hard pace all the way through, but having my pace and strides per minute right there in front of me to hold me accountable was helpful. 5 minute cool down. A little over 8 miles total.
