Personal:

I currently run for Wofford College in South Carolina, where I double major in biology and Spanish. I will be spending 5 months studying abroad in Chile in 2017. I love cookie dough a little too much and spend most of my free time outside or asleep (or both). Living & running to know Christ and to make Him known!

13 at Milliken Park. Felt great! Thankful for a little bit of mileage, finally. I miss 65 mile weeks, I don't like this whole lower-mileage deal. I definitely train best via mileage.

Is your coach forcing you to lower your mileage?

Well we had an assistant coach who came up with the workouts last year but he left this summer, so our head coach is writing everyone's schedules now, and he is a much bigger fan of lots of low-mileage-high-intensity workouts/runs as opposed to lots of mileage with one or two workouts a week. It has been more of a total change in training than just a reduction in mileage

I understand. Recently, ive been reducing my mileage a bit, in favor of more speed work. Mainly due to impatience, last three weeks have been 60-ish miles but im still on the same level of my friend who runs 30 miles a week. Hence the speed work and a 15% reduction in mileage. Im hoping that by January a 7:15 pace will feel like an 8:15. that'd be pretty sweet. lol

Okay I hear ya! Wow that's my new goal now haha, I would love for 7:15 to feel like 8:15. My recovery runs are 8-8:15 right now so if I could get to the point where they are mid to lower 7's for recovery, that would definitely mean pretty sweet things for the pace of hard efforts!
