Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Almost chickened out...almost!  Woke up to an inch of snow on the lawn, the wind was a howling at 25 mph, ice on the patio!  After staying in bed for two hours (hubby already left for the temple at 5:15am), finally called RAD and talked her into delaying the run for 90 min.  Hubby got home from the temple and said I'd be crazy to go out; some flying object would surely hit us on our heads!  What flying objects?  I noticed the birds couldn't even stay in flight.

Got down to the JRP and the wind has subsided to 15mph and the snow/rain has stopped, the sun was even peeking out thru the fast moving clouds.   But brrrr was it cold!!! with the windchill it was in the 20s.   I think I overdressed though.  RAD was perfectly dressed and ready to charge up the trail, hills, headwind and all...nothing stops that girl!

Aside from some comical mud stomping, crawling under fence rails, my wardrobe malfunctioning, biting headwind...it was a perfect perfect beautiful happy run!  To top it off, we went to Zupas for some yummy warm soup, delicious salad and sandwitch afterward!  What more can a girl ask for?  THANKS RAD for a perfect mid-morning, early afternoon fun fun fun time!!!! You're the BEST!!!

Lowell called before and during his Just Cuz half marathon!  So funny!  Wendy texted me after her Snow Canyon half where she PR'd!  YAY!!!  They made me proud and happy!  Hubby did a great job with his talk at the adult session of Stake Conference!  A WONDERFUL DAY indeed! :) :) :)

Great day with friends and family, congratulations. Still laughing about the flying objects, but with all that wind it wouldn't surprise me if a leftover contractor's tool came flying by.
