Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Nice recovery run after the harsh hills of PCM.

I had so much fun last weekend with you, RAD, and Pres. When I run amoung those I love, I know why running is such an important part of my life. Thank you for motivating me any so many others with your passion for life. Keep smiling.

By the way... A man did have a heart attack at the PCM at about mile 15. I guess there were a few people performing CPR on him until the ambulance came. What are the chances? Yikes.

Rachel,

Not sure if I got the permit...but I am kinda stubborn.

Marion,

I feel great. I would be depressed if I couldn't run. I posted couple of pics on my race report seeing how Maurine, Teena and Kelli posted such great pics on their blogs. Except I need to learn how to downsize the pic before posting. They are HUGE.

Paul,

I find the recovery time shorter with each successive race over the season. Last year I was able to run TOU and SGM (2 weeks) w/out much down time.

Bec,

Thanks for the fun on Sat. That heartattack was for real? Scary. Hope the guy is ok.

Kimmy & Kathie,

Can't wait to see you in two weeks. I am bringing the whole neighborhood...lotsa fun ladies running their 1st half in preparation for SGM.

Kellie, Maurine,

Since I didn't race PCM...the soreness is mild like after a long run. No superwoman here.

Teena,

I printed those articles Rivertonpaul posted for me. I refer to them all the time. They are very helpful.

How's Chemistry? Hope you're enjoying your class. Love you!

Smooth- when you are in your blog entry screen, click once on the pic. It will put little squares on the corners of your pic. Put the cursor over that square until the cursor turns into an arrow. Click and hold down while you "shrink" the pic smaller :) Call me if you have trouble :)

Marion,

THANKS! I "shrank" them. It works! You're a genius! How'd I ever survive w/o you. :)
