Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Nice!!!!

I still need to run today. Rylee is at Beehive Camp, so it looks like it will all be on the treadmill. I am dragging my feet. Dang!

Sounds like your run was absolutely perfect! :) :) :)

Nice run! Who or what are faith, hope, and charity? Should I know this?

From Smooth on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 11:26:38 from 174.23.203.161

SSF ~ I didn't realize Rylee is at Camp. Too bad you had to run on the TM. It is so much cooler today and just beautiful outside.

When is Rylee coming home?

Kathie ~ Faith Hope and Charity were names suggested by RivertonPaul to the three hawks that I've been seeing on my runs. One day they were perched on a fence post instead of the telephone pole or trees. One of them stayed on the fence post when I ran by and I could see him at eye level. It was so cool! I watch for them everyday when I run by that field. Paul suggested that I should give them names! :)

Sounds like another wonderful run. PCM is going to be here before you know it.

I love running in the cool. I wish I would have felt good enough to run today.

From Smooth on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 13:06:01 from 174.23.203.161

Rhett ~ I know! Gary and his kids are leaving tomorrow. We had a nice BBQ last night here for the fam. one last time. My kids will be starting school soon and I can't even think about PCM. But did book a room for Pocatello and sending in my GV 50K registration. Doone is so ready for Pocatello.

Nancy ~ This morning was a teaser for what's coming in the Fall...love this kinda weather! You will feel good enough tomorrow!

Hey Smooth, nice job with the cross training. Flex flex! :)

Good to see you had a fun run with great friends and some nice weather. Hope the rest of your week is great.

LOVE the hawk's names, RP always comes up with good names (he owns the naming rights for baby Fartlek).

Nice run on a beautiful morning. I love the little bit of crisp in the air, but it reminds me of cold sometimes...and that SCARES me! I don't like cold!

From Tom Slick on Wed, Aug 11, 2010 at 14:03:09 from 168.179.157.36

that sounds like my kind of run, early, easy and enjoyable...Keep up the great training.
