Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

HAPPY CINCO de MAYO!!!

Beautiful sunny day!  Birds a chirping!  Blossoms a blooming!   Perfect morning for a GA run.

NICE to run solo sometimes so I can focus on form.  Concentrate on midfoot strike and toe off.  It was pretty cool to feel the *springy energy* of the hamstring and calf.   I think I'm in love with my Elexir; so light and responsive compare to the Inspire.  Definitely going to train more in them and hopefully become my go-to shoes.

Going to lunch and shopping with my sweetheart and our youngest boy.  He needs suitcases, a watch, toiletries, sheets, towels, all the miscellaneous stuff.  People ask us if it's becoming easier with each boy leaving for missions.  I have to say that it's easier in some ways but bittersweet in others.  It seems that everything we do with Steven becomes our "last" thing since he's our youngest.  :) :) :)

Great run. I have been using Garmin Connect since Christmas but didn't know you could post it on here. I will have to learn the tricks of the trade from you when I actually start running again.

I just got out the 12 month clothes bucket for Adam. I'm beginning to glimpse the "bittersweet with the last" concept :(

Nice run and I'm glad you were able to get some time with you and the road. If you've always done the inspires and are liking the elixers maybe I should try them out as well...hmmm...

your running route is in the shape of a magic lamp. or an elf shoe. or a bird with a worm in it's mouth.

great run!

Doone ~ It was a combined effort of Teena, her SIL, Annie and Maynard that taught me how to post the garminconnect thing. Goes to show how IT-challenged I am! :)

RAD ~ I have run in Inspire for so long that I was afraid to switch to something new. You should try the Elixir...you may like it.

SSF ~ We had a wonderful day! I'm so sorry Rylee and Oliver are home sick. Hope they feel better real soon.

Kathie ~ I have the Elixir 5. Got them at 60% off. How do the Elixir 6 feel? I love the colors of the Elixir 6...very cool!

Nancy ~ Steven is SO READY! He goes in the MTC next Wed. I am going to enjoy every last min. I get to spend with him. We are going on a temple trip tomorrow.

allie ~ You have such artistic eyes. How was your ART therapy today?

Smoothie, where do you find your shoes at such a deep discount? I always have to pay full price for mine.

From Smooth on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 00:17:38 from 67.2.90.177

Dale ~ I usually get them at Runningwarehouse.com. In January and February they have clearance at a deep discount. They have 2 days free shipping. I also check Amazon.com frequently and sometimes get lucky. I refuse to pay full price. It gets expensive when I go through 5 pairs a year.

I love light weight springy shoes. Good job running and focusing on form. It is so important in maximizing your running potential.

When we get boys heading out on missions, we will come to you for advice so REMEMBER everything for us.

Hope you had a great afternoon!!! You have to cherish the moments, huh?!?

Have a splendid weekend! :o)
