Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Gorgeous day!!! sunny blue sky with a good 6mph SSW breeze!  Ran with Carolyn for 5 around the 'hood; then by myself up to Alpine.   Turned around 1 mile shy of the fountain of youth to make it home in time to shower and go visit teaching.  The legs definitely felt the miles from the last two days, especially on the hills.  Had only EmergenC and 20 oz gatorade from the hand-held...somewhat glycogen depleted.

14.75 in 2:20:35.  AP: 9:35

Need to do yoga, stretch and foam roll later...I am very sleepy and tired at the moment!

I can't believe I didn't see you before. Marshall and I (Kirsten) are still running and doing Utah Valley in June, but it's not going well. Are you running it this year? Maybe we'll see you there.

Great training lately! Remember, taking care of all those little aches and pains is vital now.

Kristy ~ So HAPPY to see you blogging again! YAHOO! I hope I'll see you real soon if not then at Ogden! :)

Kathie ~ Are you still planning on joining us on Sat. for our FUN 20 miles Boston stimulator run?

Paul ~ How's the archilles?

Andy ~ Yup, last push before Boston! Hope to hit 70 this week!

allie ~ Today wasn't so lovely...but that's March in Utah! :)

Rhett ~ I'll try! Last year I ran Five 20 milers, with 3 weeks topping at 70 or over. I ran my last 20 miler on a Friday because I had to be at the Young Women's Conference at the Conference Center Sat. morning as our YWs were singing! That run was in a blizzard. I felt strong and ready for Boston. How things have changed this year.

SSF ~ I didn't get much sleep b/c Pres. was out of town. I did roll out the legs though! Love and miss you so much! SO HAPPY you had a great time down in SG!

Kirsten ~ YOU are on the blog?!!! How have I missed you! I am going over to your blog now!

Yes, I have signed up for UVM and Ogden. I'll have to see how my knee goes after Boston.

Rob ~ Thanks for the advice! There have been so many injuries lately on the blog. Two girls have stress fracture right after their last 20 miler heading into their marathons. I am a bit paranoid now!
