Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Met Karen, Kelli and Scott at the Lehi JRP at 8.  I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE running with Kelli.  I think she should get free entry to every race by being a pacer! :) Not only can she run whatever pace and distance, she makes you feel like a million bucks running side by side her!!! :) :) :) WONDERFUL conversations! GREAT confidence booster!  TRUE friend thru and thru!!!!  THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUCH, KELLI, FOR COMING ALL THE WAY TO RUN WITH ME every step of the way!  You're the BEST!!!!  You're gonna do FANTASTIC at Buffalo 50 miler next week! :)

It was a beautiful run except for ONE little minor thing, the WIND!!!  GOODNESS!!!  I think I actually felt the wind pushed me back a few steps.  I am very happy for Karen.  She stayed with us the whole time, plus she had Sky on a leash.  She is going to do GREAT at Salt Lake Marathon.  Today's run really boost her confidence!  We stopped only once at the car at mile 11.25 to drink and I gu'd.

After the brief stop at the car we continued north.  Then everyone turned back by the elementary school since they only wanted to do 12 but accompanied me for an extra mile for 13.  I couldn't do any math so they figured it out for me, I continued on 'till my Garmin hit 14.7, then turned back to make 18.  I tell ya, my last solo miles was a battle over fatigue & wind!!!  The thought that I might have forgotten to lock my car kept me going! :)  I am happy with my effort.  No potty breaks, only stopped once to gu.  Drank while running, a total of 14 oz and 1 gu.  I am now starving! :)

18 miles in 2:47:43.  AP; 9:19.  Splits:  9:39, 9:14, 9:16, 9:11, 9:22, 9:37 (drink),  9:09, 9:15, 9:18, 9:11, 9:08, 9:39 (said goodbye), 9:09, 9:18, 9:04, 9:21, 9:36 (major wind, got a text from RAD about hers and SSF's Spectrum time!  WOW!) 9:09.  The last 3 miles pace surprised me, especially the last mile, it was all headwind w/ some rolling hills, I thought I was running in the 10s.

Side note:  An hour into the run I kept thinking about my SSF at Spectrum, calculating in my mind where she'd be on the course.  I even talked out loud, "GO Teena GO, PUSH it, you can do it!" when she had about a mile to go!!!  I sure hope all our friends did great at their races today.  Can't wait to read the reports. :)

Excellent! Sorry I had to miss it. We did manage to get all the roof trusses up though...

Looks like a solid 18 for you, Smooth. The wind while we were up on the roof made me think about the running conditions. Sounds like they were about the same. Still, I'd have much rather been running with you--father's have a way of guilting their sons into helping them out. At least mine does.

From Smooth on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 15:36:51 from 67.2.72.18

Bradley ~ Dang! We missed you!!! You are a WONDERFUL son to help your dad with the roof on a blustery day! :) I am glad the trusses are up and you didn't get blown off the roof. :) :) :)

BEST of LUCK next week on the island running with the buffalo. Wish I could be there to cheer you! I am going to run that thing one of these days!

Sounds like a great run. I love running with Kelli also. Sometimes at running group she will go slow with me. She is a great runner just like you.

From Smooth on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 22:35:17 from 67.2.72.18

The knee hurt during the warm up miles, then again about 2 hrs into the run. I have been avoiding hills b/c it hurts on downhill.

One more 20 miler next Sat., then it's taper and time to get ready for the wedding and mission farewell! I am glad the bronchitis is now and not in 2-3 weeks. Just hope there is no relapse!!!

I NEED a Spring Break! :) Will you have extra extra extra fun for me, sweet SSF? :) LLL LLL LLL

What a wonderful run! I too love running with Kelli, she is just amazing all around. I was lucky to get a similarly amazing running partner today too though :)

I'm glad you had a great morning, miles always go easier with company! Take care of that knee.

Rachel ~ CONGRATULATIONS on your great race today! Where is your report? Are you still in SG?

Thanks for the text after you finished! I was waiting anxiously!!!

Yes, you were very lucky and fun to run with Teena for the extra post race miles today! I sure missed you girls today! :)

From RAD on Sat, Mar 19, 2011 at 23:10:41 from 208.88.9.225

I have been reading reports instead of writing mine :) I am still in SG, taking the weekend and delegating Sunday responsibilities. Teena asked if I had your number to text you, so I sent it on. I was surprised to then see Kelli's return, but I figured you must've been running together. I'm just glad it's over and I now have some lax time until the next push!

OH, you are too funny! I am the lucky one to get to run with you. I LOVE RUNNING WITH YOU!!! Thanks for inviting me and please do it again. I will always travel for good company!

Glad the rest of the run went ok for you, I was so sad to not be able to go farther. That wind was CRAZY, I am surprised it did not blow tiny little you away!!! Rest up and get WELL!!!!

Kathie ~ I will be thrilled if you'd run with me even for the first little bit till I can't keep up any longer! :) Here comes the Utah Grannies! YAHOO BABY!!!!

Kelli ~ One of these days I'm going to come up and run your neck of the woods as long as it's not too early and not too hilly and easy to find! :) If you ever run Day Break let me know, cause my son and his bride will be living there! :)

Rachel ~ You're racing so well this early in the season. Can't wait to see how well you're gonna do this year! :)

SSF ~ No such luck, Prez has Stake Conference the week after the wedding and farewell. I don't think I would ever get to have him all to myself. Sigh! Love you too!!!

Brooke ~ I missed you girls too! You did so well on Sat. So HAPPY your archilles is healing well, you will have a great Slam year! :)
