Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Did the meetings in the morning.  Went to the temple and had lunch there with my friends. The food is good and inexpensive there.  Had parmasean chicken, rice pilaf, green beans, very rich gravy on the side, and chocolate truffle cake with berries, yum!

Got home and ran in the middle of the afternoon.  Boy, was it hot!  There was a heavy smell of smoke from "open Spring burn".  Ran 2.5 miles down then back up the hill on 3rd west.  Was in a real hurry to get it done.  Tonight is R.S. Birthday dinner, fun fun fun!

5 miles in 43:10.  AP: 8:38.  Splits: 8:38, 8:16, 8:26, 8:49, 8:58.

Great job getting it done and hitting the temple. I am jealous. It has been hot. But dont hold your breath we will be freezing soon enough again.

The temple food is always so good it is hard not to eat too much. At the Vegas temple they used to bake all their baked goods there fresh and they were to die for. Then they stopped doing that a couple years ago....sad day.

Nice run today. It was 91 degrees here today, but the high for Sunday is only supossed to be 69...burr!

You sure know how to fill up your day! Do you ever take a nap and just lounge? I could show you how if you ever want to try it out. Have fun at the Birthday Party tonight!

I ran at 4 and I smelled smoke, too. It was yucky!

Thanks for all your love and advice, you really are the best!

I love your Spectrum pics!! You are so darling and you look like you LOVE running. You are THE diva.

I haven't decided if I want to purchase the Boston attire before the race or buy it there? Pretty sure I'm going to buy something, I just don't know what yet.

Should I wait and buy the stuff at the expo? I kind of want my stuff before then.

Mark,

We won't be freezing. Actually cool will be so COOL for my Saturday's long run, got to do a 20+

Rhett,

91degrees?!!! That's way above normal body temp...I'd disintegrate running in that heat. Glad I don't live in AZ especially in the summer.

Leslie,

Nap would be nice!!! How was your birthday dinner?

Kelli,

I ran at 3. You're just as crazy...running 6 at 4??? GOOD LUCK on Sat. You'll do GREAT!!!

Bec,

Either way is fine. If you're gonna wear it on race day; then buy it now so you can run in them beforehand. That's what I did. I bought my jacket (xs), wore it on the plane; took it to the expo to exchange for xxs. Image was really good about that. Not sure if Adidas will do the same. I need to check out this year's colors and stuff.

Well, two weeks ago food from the temple got stuck in my dad's esophagus on two different occasions. A carrot on Friday, then the next Tuesday on some chicken. This was the impetus behind him having a dilation of the esophagus this week, which will hopefully make things better.

I here the food in the temple has no calories... that is why I can eat pie there and not feel bad! (I could be wrong though)
