Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Woke up to stiff achy body.  With a busy day and limited time, it's just easier to lace up the shoes and head out the door rather than drive to the LC to use the elliptical.

36F, cloudy, breezy.  Both knees were complaining, right more than left.  Stopped couple times to stretch.  The SR92 express hwy construction is progressing along.  There was a huge machine making this loud pounding sound along the canal at the Center St. bridge, very annoying!  Wish I was running w/ music!

Speaking at the L26 Ward R.S. birthday dinner tonight!  I am nervous!

I can not stand running along the road. It just zaps all the joy out of being outside :( We'll get back to some prettier scenery soon, I hope! good job getting out there. I hope your knees won't hurt anymore. It's tough once you've got that cycle of swelling to keep at bay.

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Mar 09, 2011 at 17:21:15 from 67.42.27.114

Good luck tonight.

You are an amazing speaker, you will do GREAT! Nice job on the miles and I hope the knees don't give you heck for beating them this morning.

From Teena Marie on Wed, Mar 09, 2011 at 19:12:30 from 67.2.100.67

OH, hope the speaking went well! I am sure it did, you are an amazing speaker just off the cuff, i can not imagine how much better it is when it is all planned out!

Take care of that achy and sore body!

From Kathie on Thu, Mar 10, 2011 at 17:23:50 from 174.23.136.91

I am sure your talk was great!

What are we going to do about your knees? I hope the roller helped. I went out and bought one today. It is blue and I have not named it yet.

What are your plans for Saturday?

From Nancy on Thu, Mar 10, 2011 at 21:17:16 from 76.27.19.206

I'm sure you'll do a good job tonight. I'd like to hear you.

From Smooth on Fri, Mar 11, 2011 at 14:16:23 from 67.2.72.228

Luz ~ I am so glad you had a wonderful ski day with your friends. We are going to run at the JRP in West Jordan this Sat. You wanna join us?

Paul ~ Thanks!

Rachel ~ The knee is OK when I keep my run short or slow! :) Thanks for the confidence in my speaking ability! :)

SSF ~ I was shaking...not sure if I was cold or nervous...probably nervous! Thank heavens for the Spirit! I totally changed what I had prepared to speak!

Kelli ~ I had prepared tons of stuff to say. But the sister before me and the video presentation covered the same stuff I had prepared. So I threw the notes away and just spoke from my heart. Hope the Spirit carried it to the hearts of the sisters. It was an amazing dinner/event! I went away both physically and spiritually fed!

Kathie ~ I think I need to take couple months off from running to let the knee heals up completely. Can't do that until at least after Boston.

I was going to run 20 miles w/ Karen around Highland, American Fork and Alpine on Sat. After talking to Teena, I am going to join the Chumps run. Are you coming? How many are you running?

Nancy ~ Thanks! You always say the kindest things! :)

From Kelli on Fri, Mar 11, 2011 at 16:05:44 from 71.219.97.85

And I am sure it was even more amazing since you spoke from the heart because YOU ARE AMAZING!

From LuzyLew on Fri, Mar 11, 2011 at 16:24:54 from 208.187.197.42

Yes, I want to join. What time, and how far are you going?

From Smooth on Fri, Mar 11, 2011 at 17:16:20 from 67.2.72.228

Luz ~ we are meeting at 8 am at the Winchester Park in West Jordan. Karen and I need to do 20. But most of the group are training for Ogden so they will probably run 16-18.

Do you need driving direction?

From Smooth on Fri, Mar 11, 2011 at 17:43:00 from 67.2.72.228

Luz ~ I just PM'd you the direction. If you have any question call me or PM Teena! See you in the morning! :)
